Symbolum Venatores: The Story So Far

The History of Symbolum Venatores is a short one, but within the fabrics of time, it is a long one. A very long one. This article details the past releases of the IP and gives a short insight into the next prose installment of the brand of Monsters and History.

This entry details the beginning of the IP and the prose series as it followed the ten adventures of Gabriel Kane, one of the best and skillful monster hunters/ufologists within the Symbolum Venatores. Beginning his works in the late period of Egypt Eyalet, going across the American Civil War, the late period of Feudal Japan, the Victorian Era, and minor others, Gabriel Kane has come across many familiar faces as well as some unknown. In The Gabriel Kane Collection, Kane meets such figures like Akhenaten, Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, Shogun Yoshinobu, Thomas Carnacki, Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Carmilla, Doctor Moreau, The Invisible Man, The Phantom of the Opera, and Dracula. These ten stories were only the beginning of the Symbolum Venatores and what was to come.

The stories continued with Hod, a story centered on a macabre murder mystery led by Mr. Hod, a peculiar and strange man and Monster Hunter of the Symbolum Venatores. Set in 1917 in the backgrounds of the Russian Revolution as Mr. Hod goes on a hunt for a spiritual werewolf, something he is deeply familiar with. As for his future, Mr. Hod will return.

The next story to come. Set further back in history before the times of Gabriel Kane and Mr. Hod. War of The Two Kingdoms, a new story set in the times of Ancient Israel, following Elrad of Benjamin. A man who keeps to himself is brought into the division of the Kingdom of Israel after the death of Solomon and the succession of his son Rehoboam. What follows besides the civil war between Israel and Judah is Elrad’s introduction to the world of monsters and legends. This story is layered as an origin story for the Monster Hunters themselves. In this story, Elrad is brought into the Symbolum Venatores (Known as the Oth Tsayad during Ancient Israel) by several moving forces. During the civil war between Judah and Israel, Elrad is taught by Iddo the Seer concerning the ways of the Hunters, bringing him to Egypt and beyond. In the end, he becomes known as Elrad The Hunter throughout all of Israel.

His story continued in Elrad’s Chronicles, a direct sequel to War of The Two Kingdoms as a Short Story Duology. Taking Elrad into the historic Battle of Zephath and into the land of the Philistines with Wrath of the Anakim.

What came after the Ancient Israel stories was Twilight of the Gods. Set during the Viking Age as it will follows Einar The Hunter on a mission to uncover a mystery which pertains to his Viking heritage and his servitude to the Symbolum Venatores.

This brings us to the next installment, The Monster Hunter. This new standalone story takes place during Queen Hatshepsut’s reign in Ancient Egypt as a sinister cult only known as the Lectors of Apep attempt to transform a peaceful Egypt into a chaotic land full of raging monsters. Which this threat looming, a new Hunter arrives to protect all those across Egypt from their darker plans.

The Symbolum Venatores IP is scattered across a canvas of history. There are many adventures to uncover other monster hunters and ufologists across time itself. From the ongoing prose series to the upcoming Graphic Novel Trilogy, the Manga, as well as animated productions and gaming potential, History is their Playbook.
